Dancing inmates of Cebu -Psy’s Gangnam Style

September 30, 2012 in Entertainment, Featured Post, MTV/You tube, Music

When Psy’s gangnam style become popular, i know one thing for sure and i have been looking forward to see Cebu’s dancing inmates own version of this dance.  Nonetheless, my thoughts is true.  Just barely two days on youtube, their own version of Psy’s gangnam style dance is going viral, as expected, it’s now 99,110 views just a short for 100,000.

And i do believe as the days goes by and the news on local television, their video can reach as many as 1 million views.  This dance craze of Psy has indeed reaching million of people and no wonder it receives an award for having the most views in the history of youtube.

funny it may seem, but i really find the dance as cute and easy to do.  Some commented that you look like a crazy something when doing this dance but just for the record, when someone act crazy it can create buzz and there is only two results, the people would either love it or condemned it and in this part, the people do love the idea.  This is indeed another great achievement for Korean music industry.

I wonder if my fave korean drama actors and actresses has their own version of Psy’s gangnam style.  I would really love to see them dancing.

Many fans would surely love to see him on the billboard rallying the busy street of Quezon City, EDSA and Pasig.  Although, Bench had not revealed the newest KPOP endorser, many fans of Min Ho are indeed waiting for this announcement.

Dolphy Dead at 83

July 12, 2012 in Celebrity, Entertainment

The whole nation mourns for the lost of a beloved King of Comedy of the Philippine Cinema and Television.  The death of Pidol or Dolphy is indeed a great loss of the movie industry and just thinking about it.  No one can ever replace what he had made and give to the industry of film and television.

His a legend, a very appropriate name to call someone who had greatly contributed to the happiness of every child who will never fail to watch his filipino sitcoms which will be forever engraved in the heart of many households and family.

Tributes, appreciation, this was all given after his death but he was not even spared of politics.  Even if he would have a landslide when he join politics, he remained humble and silently give charity to the poor.  He might have lead a life having several woman but this did not hinder him to be a good father, a good friend and most of all, a good person.

His death might be a suffering for his family and a sad event for his fans like us but his journey is yet unknown but one thing is for sure,  the Good Lord will give him a good life wherever it was because he lives his life not just giving a helping hand but also for making people believe that there was happiness even in tears and joy even we are lacking on some things.

Now the curtains falls down for the final chapter of his life.  National Artist or not, we will be forever grateful to Dolphy because of all that he shared and all that he offered.  For giving us reasons to be happy despite the gloomy reality of life and for giving us the chance to feel the happiness of looking forward each night to watch his sitcoms.

Thank you so much for sharing with the Filipino people the happy side of you!  For making us smile and burst into laughter with all your tricks and treats to everyone.  You are indeed a king, enigmatic figure in this era.

Lee Min Ho’s New Korean Drama “Faith”

July 9, 2012 in Entertainment, Featured Post, Korean Drama, Korean Drama I Love

I don’t know what’s with Korean Drama, lately some of the KDrama i have watched was about a young man that lives on the old century (kingdom) and a woman from the new era (modern world) with the man travelling from the fast to present to solve some difficulties or problems and finding true love beyond time and places.

First was the Rooftop Prince ( a story of a prince who travels in time to find his beloved wife) and the second one is  Queen In Hyun’s Man (a scholar who supported Queen In Hyun travels 300 years to find the modern Korea with a no name actress portraying the role of Queen In Hyun in a film) and now, favorite Korean hunk actor Lee Min Ho’s new korean drama named “Faith” is also about a warrior from the Goryeo Period and a female doctor from the present day finds each other and their love transcending time and space.

Faith (Lee Min Ho)

Just seeing the official pictures from their official page thrills me. I would definitely wait this one and hopefully, i got the chance to watch it.

Lee Min Ho’s new korean drama “faith”

In this Kdrama, he will be paired opposite to Korean actress Kim Hee – Seon (Sun) of Smile Again and My Fair Lady.

The Last Scandal of my Life-Remembering Cho Jin-Sil

July 3, 2012 in Actor/Actress Profile, Drama, Entertainment

I have already seen the dvd a dozen time but the picture doesn’t really interests me so i skipped buying it but when i’m searching about some of the best Korean Dramas, The Last Scandal of my Life appears on different sites as one of the Best Korean Dramas of 2008 and that interests me and sparks my curiosity to watch it.

The Kdrama evolves on the story of a happy go lucky but with a strong personality, housewife “Hong Sun-hee” who lives her life supporting her daughter because her husband was always not at home and tricks her to get a divorce so he can marries a richer woman because of his ranking debt.  Hong Sun Hee accidentally meets her classmate and first love , Jang Dong-chul (Jung Joon Ho) who happens to be a well known actor who pretends that he is on his early 30′s.

Because she needed money for her to support her daughter, she accepted the job of being a nanny in Song Jae-bin’s house and this is the time were they realized that there is still love in their hearts,  even after 20 years.  But just like in any other drama, it is not always happy times, there were a scene when a former love of Song Jae Bin appears and try to threaten their relationship by telling the truth that Xun  was indeed Jae Bin son. The drama ends well where Song Jae-bins eventually fight for his love and Hong Sun Hee accepted him and they were eventually married.

The Last Scandal of My Life

Many commented that the drama starts low and the actress, Cho Jin Sil overly acted on the first few scenes.  I guess, there are some scene that the actors did not really shine but if you would watch the drama from beginning to it’s end, you will appreciate it and will eventually felt something.

I have read that the drama was very successful and talks were made to have a second season or what we called part II but an unexpected event happened wherein actress, Cho Jin-Sil takes her on life and committed suicide on the bathroom of her own room where she shares with her mother and her two children.

On a personal level, it makes me sad to learn that a talented actress and a struggling mother of two would eventually end her life because of public ridicule and defamation that causes her great pressure and stress. I believe that Cho Jin-Sil is a victim of an old society who believes that single mom is not capable of being strong.   According to Times, Cho Jin-Sil Choi spoke openly on the taboo topic and sought to change the unpopular public perception of single moms in South Korea. “Korean society does not like strong women, and thinks single moms have a personality disorder,” says Park Soo Na, a national entertainment columnist.”

The news said that Choi had killed herself “in a momentary impulse”  because of great pressure and broken heart because of the rumors that spread all over the net that her good friend, Ahn Jae Hwan killed himself because he was not able to pay his debt were netizens says that Choi was the cause of this death because he was  indeed a loan shark which driven a fellow actor, Ahn Jae Hwan, to kill himself.

A very sad truth if I may say, Choi is considered as Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts of South Korea having done numerous movies and television acting.  For 20 years, she was he country’s cinematic sweetheart and as close to being a “national” actress but this ended when she was found dead hanging on her bath tub on October 2, 2008. But before her death, she suffered for four years finding her tracks on showbiz after her divorce, because many companies were still reluctant to give prominent roles to single mother.

With her beautiful performance on this Kdrama, she won , 2008 MBC Broadcasting Award: Best Contribution Award and Drama Series Top Excellence Award for Actress  wherein she was not able to receive personally because of her untimely death.

I could never imagine that Korea would be as sensitive and closed on the issue of single parents considering the fact that they allow divorce on their law.  If they really value the family, or having a complete family, they would have never allow divorce in the first place but I always have a soft opinion regarding divorce.  For me, if the marriage could not really work and you are being beaten (like what had happened to Cho Jin-Sil)  it is just a right attitude to seek on your own, a family that will love you no matter what. it is just too sad that a beautiful , talented and strong woman would just eventually become weaker because of a story that should not be talked in the first place.

Divorce has been a major talk in the Philippines for so long, people are still having second thoughts on accepting it and I guess, there are many conservatives that still don’t believe about divorce.

the last scandal of my life

The suicide of Cho Jin-Sil is indeed the last scandal of her life.  True sad because unlike on the story of her KDrama  which gives her a happy ending, her life ends with problems, dismay, frustrations that lead to her death.

The King 2 Hearts

June 17, 2012 in Drama, Entertainment, Korean Drama, Television Drama Review

Also known as The King.  The King 2 Hearts was top billed by Ha Ji Won ( Secret Garden) as Captain Kim Hang Ah and singer-actor Lee Seung Gi ( My girlfriend is a nine tail fox (gumiho) as Lee Jae Ha.   The series was aired by MBC from  March 21 to May 24, 2012.

The story was set in a modern South Korea and North Korea in time where descendants of Jonseon Dynasty rules the land.  Lee Jae Ha is a young crown prince who  acts carelessly, irresponsible without minding  politics and living a materialistic and charismatic life due to his reluctance to take in the throne.  When his brother ascended to the throne , he lives a playboy lifestyle.

The present Emperor (his brother) thought of a plan to teach his brother responsibility and  to help him grow up. The emperor tricked Lee Jae Hae to join the WOC  organized by the North Korean Military Command.  However, considering his attitude the members of the north korean command led by Captain King Hang Ah find him a royal pain in the ass.

Just like some other romatic story.  Prince Lee Jae Ha and Captain Kim Hang Ah love story is like dog and cats on a fight but as days goes by, both of them falls in love with each other.  The Emperor thought that Captain Hang Ah is the suitable wife for the prince, he made it to the news that the prince is engaged to be married to Captain Hang Ah.   Jae ha on the denial of his true feelings eventually confessed his love to Hang Ah through a public announcement to ease the political fire targeted towards the Emperor.

King 2 hearts by MDC

Captain King Hang Ah and Prince Lee Jae Ha was engaged and their relationship that was once a marriage of convenience turned into a more deeper romantic relationship.   But later Prince Jae Ha found himself in a bigger mess upon the assassination of the Royal Couple.  He was now crowned as the King of South Korea and must act maturely with responsibility considering that his throne and his family is in the bridge of falling apart and facing the news that his future wife (North Koreans) might be responsible with the assassination of the former king.  Succumbing to clever deceitful persuasion from His (the King’s) most trusted old advisor, Hang Ah was forced to go on with public persecution.  This starts the problem with the two lovers as the strained Hang Ah spoke harsh words to Prince Jae Ha forcing the immature prince to send him back to his native land.

Although with regrets and deep contemplation, King Jae Ha stay firms with his decision and determined to catch the real antagonist which happens to be the head of the Club M  until a public news from North Korea stating that Hang Ah suffered a miscarriage.

Not minding the possible outcome, King Jae Ha insists on visiting Captain Hang Ah on the hope of gaining her trusts back and winning her heart again.

Although the story is a little bit unrealistic, I find it truly entertaining and interesting considering the fact that the story tackles sensitive issues regarding North Korea and South Korean problems which is really happening even today. It was a great effort for the writer to come up to a well -organized plot that made both of the two separate countries bind in unity through the marriage of the King of South Korea and an army captain of North Korea.

King 2 Hearts

What I specifically like the drama,   is the part at the time the American troops is ready to make war with the North Korea and the North Korea is planning to attack back to the South.  The king for his love to Captain Ah thought of a plan to eventually stop the Americans by announcing to the world that they are getting married on the very same day that the American is planning the attack.   Although the Head of North Korea is against the idea, he was eventually persuaded due to a heart catching event that you need to watch for.   The marriage scene can be seen wherein King Jae Ha fetch Captain Ah on the boarder of the two countries and the two walk through the boarder going to the South.

Although, i am not really a fan of Lee Seung Gi, i found him really different in this drama. On the other hand, Ha Ji Won as usual gave a praised worthy performance. Her character as a North Korean sniper was different from her other drama but her fans would surely love her on the action scene she had in this movie.  The whole drama was filled with romantic scene that can melt your  heart.

Is she really dreaming? Watch the drama to find the answer.

King 2 Hearts first kiss

This is the second time, i have watched a korean drama which involves a love story between a North Korean woman and a South Korean man.   I really do hope that the tensions between the two countries can be resolve.

Do watch the trailer below.

Sexy Park Si Yeon cosmopolitan cover

Park Si Yeon is among the beautiful faces in the Korean television drama and movies.  She was born in Korea although she finished her high school and journalism degree in the United States.  She entered and win third place in Miss Seoul Beauty pageant and second in Miss Korea pageant in 2000.

She was first seen in the korean drama , My Girl but received bad reviews (which i do wonder) but she eventually shine on her character at Coffee House (how i remember her big voluptuous body on that series)

Now, Park Si Yeon  shows off her sexy figure with just a  flirty swimwear in the June 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan Korea.

I guess in terms of acting, she has a lot of work to do but she would be perfectly good in modelling.
