When I have read the synopsis of the Attic Prince, I told myself that I really need to grab a copy of this KDrama.  I’m not really a fan of Park Yoochun (Micky)  but I do like his portrayal in  Sungkyunkwan Scandal rather than the latest Ms. Ripley which ending is such a waste.

Being a member of the famous Korean Pop Band JYJ, many korean drama addicts are surely interested on seeing him appear on another Kdrama.  The story evolves on a journey of love and betrayal as  Crown Prince Lee Gak (Micky) solves the murder case of the Crown Princess.  In his quest to find the culprits, he  traveled in the present Seoul (300 Years later).  He accidentally landed on the rooftop apartment of Park Ha ( who looks like the Crown Princess sister, Bu Yong) Han Ji Min.

Park Ha agrees to educate the Prince and his entourage on the life of the 21st century.  Lee Gak meet Hong Se Na , who looks like the reincarnation of his wife, the Crown Princess.  Lee Gak takes the identity of Yong Tae Yong who everybody thought died two years ago.  As Lee Gak unsolved the mystery of the murder of Tae Yong, he also unravel the mystery of the death of the Crown Princess and learned the fact that who died in the Joseon Era is not the Crown Princess but Bu Yong after she ate the poisonous dried persimmon which was intended for the Crown Prince.

On the process, Lee Gak realized that he was sent to the present not to find the Crown Princess but to learn his true love for the Crown Princess sister (Bu Yong) whom from the start was in love with him ( she confessed her love through a death letter).

Yoochun for Attic Prince

The drama series was written to let the viewer see that what destiny and true love means.  True loves knows time and place and even if you will be reincarnated after 300 years, the one that was destined for you will be your one true love. That’s the main reason why when Tae Yong see Park Ha in New York , he immediately felt something for her and that love could have been consummated but for some reason, Tae Yong goes to coma for Lee Gak to realize his love to Bu Yong which was reincarnated as Park Ha.

As Lee Gak went home on the Joseon Era, Tae Yong awaken on his coma which proves that Tae Yong souls was Lee Gak all alone.  The only sad thing on it is the thought that Lee Gak had to live alone in Joseon with his feelings and memories of Bu Yong (Park Ha) until he died and reincarnated 300 years after.  Park Ha on the other hand did not suffer much long considering the fact that after she died, she was reincarnated after 300 years to find the love he had for Lee Gak.

To sum it all, the drama was written and directed beautifully.  Although, there are many korean dramas that I have watched before, this one is a must see. Some plots are funny and can give warm feelings on your heart and the love story will be perfected with time.
